Prerequisites:
-
- Fully charged surface unit running firmware v2.3.1 or later (Press here for a guide on upgrading firmware)
- USB-C to ethernet dongle (USB-A for white surface units)
- Ethernet cable
- Ethernet connection for phone/tablet/PC
Step 1: Log in to the surface unit
Connect your PC to the Blueye WiFi and open this webpage: http://192.168.1.1
You will then see a webpage asking for a username and password. Enter root as username and pioneer as password.
Step 2: Disable the WiFi interface
After logging in, you'll see something like this (depending on the version currently running).
Navigate to "Network -> Wireless"
Press the blue "Edit" button
Press the red "Disable" button.
Once the setting has been applied press the green "Save" button and exit the webpage.
The SSID should no longer be accessible, and you need to use an Ethernet to USB-C dongle in the surface unit in order to connect. If your surface unit is white you need a USB-A to Ethernet dongle.
Make sure your ethernet settings on your phone/tablet/PC are set to DHCP.
If you want to revert to the previous setting, you can reset the surface unit as described here.
