The next version of the Blueye Dive Buddy app will be renamed to Blueye Observer. We are working on a Windows version of the app. You can download an early beta version of Blueye Observer for Windows today. If you have any feedback on the beta release, please contact support@blueye.no or use the Official Blueye User Group on Facebook.
Installation
Download the latest release:
- blueye-observer-2.0.0.102-master-win-x64.zip (63.8 MB)
- blueye-observer-2.0.0.102-master-win-x86.zip (57.6 MB)
Extract the ZIP file (Right-click and select Extract All...) into a directory on your computer.
The app does not need any additional installation steps and can be launched directly from this directory by double-clicking the "Blueye Observer.exe" file.
Security Warnings
When launching the app on Windows 10, you may get a security warning like this. This is because we have not digitally signed the application yet. Click More Info, and Run Anyway to launch the app.
Next, you will get a warning from Windows Defender Firewall. This is due to how the Blueye Observer app will discover and connect to your Blueye Surface Unit and Blueye Drone on the network. You must allow access to private networks, as the Blueye Surface Unit Wi-Fi network is considered a normal private network.
Usage
The Blueye Observer app will allow additional observers to connect to your drone and see the video stream. Turn on your Blueye Drone, connect to the Surface Unit Wi-Fi network, and launch the Blueye Observer app on your Windows computer. The video stream, as well as key telemetry data, should appear immediately.
