This Privacy Policy explains how Blueye Robotics AS (organization number 915 666 450) process personal data. Our goal with this Policy is to give users, visitors, and customers an overview of how we process personal data. Blueye Robotics AS is the Data Controller for the processing and the main responsible for the processing is CEO of Blueye Robotics AS.
This Privacy Policy describes the following:

Personal data users and customers share with us
We need certain personal data to fulfill several operations. For example, we need your name, address, mobile phone number and e-mail to process your order and ship your ordered items. This kind of personal information is also necessary to store for customer support purposes and to keep you informed about e.g. new updates on our products and services. We do not collect or store your payment details, this is processed by our provider Stripe.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we need personal data such as e-mail, first name, and last name. This is information we need to send you newsletters and to tailor your message (e.g. using your first name in the e-mail).
Users can contact us through our contact scheme on blueyerobotics.com, blueye.com or blueye.no. When using the contact scheme users leave personal information such as name and e-mail address.
The legal basis for the processing described over is the Personal Data Act § 8 litras a (fulfilling an agreement to which the customer is party). The data is provided to Blueye Robotics by the customer or user when purchasing a product or service, or subsequently provided or generated by the customer.
Marketing
Blueye processes personal data such as name and e-mail address for the purpose of sending marketing to customers as well as finding potential new customers based on similarities between customers and potential customers, using social media tools such as lookalike audience and similar.
We do not process personal information for the purpose of automated profiling.
The legal basis for the processing is consent from the registered persons (Personal Data Act § 8(1)9, which is voluntary to submit. The consent is either gathered through opt-in to our newsletter or by accepting cookies and pixels through your web browser settings.

Dive-related and location-related information
When you use the Blueye App you have the option to share and log dive-related information with us. This is information connected to your dive with the Blueye Pioneer underwater drone, like depth, dive duration, and date. This is information you voluntarily share with us and is processed by us to improve our products and services. When you transfer video files from the Blueye App to your device, this will only be stored on your preferred device and will not be accessible for Blueye.
The Blueye App can track location-related information if the user consent to the App to do so. This is information we can connect to e.g. dive-logs and could be used to improve our products and services.

Disclosure to third parties
Blueye does not disclose personal data to third parties which we don’t have written a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with.
How long we store data
Newsletter
You can update your preferences or opt-out from receiving newsletters at any time. We will store your data until we receive your opt-out of the service.
Order-details
Personal data relating to your order will be stored until they are no longer necessary to process considered the purpose of the processing until they are no longer necessary to process in order to fulfill legal obligations or until they are no longer necessary for us to be able to handle claims and complaints.
Contact scheme
We use Zendesk as our Customer Support provider. Zendesk is a third party relation and will store your personal information in compliance with GDPR and/or until you act on one of your rights (see the section below).
Blueye App
We store information gathered through the Blueye App in compliance with GDPR and/or until you act on one of your rights. We only delete or anonymize information upon request as this is vital information for us to improve our product and services.
Blueye Websites
We use cookies and pixels on our websites. Different cookies are stored in different amount of time, e.g. Google Analytics stores information up to 38 months and session cookies are removed when you leave the site. You can read more about our use of cookies and pixels in our Cookie Policy.
Your rights and how you can contact us
As of May 2018, individuals within EU/EEA have rights relating to:
- Information about the processing of personal data and access to data
- Rectification and deletion of inaccurate or incorrect data
- Be forgotten

Registered individuals may also file a complaint by contacting the data protection authority in Norway or if the customer is resident elsewhere in Europe their local data protection authority.

Track conversions from Google Ads, finding new and potential customers and serve relevant ads to you while visiting the Google network and Google partners.
Hotjar
We use Hotjar in order to better understand our users’ needs and to optimize this service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our user's experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behavior and their devices (in particular device's IP address (captured and stored only in anonymized form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), preferred language used to display our website). Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymized user profile.
