AI features are opt-in. The Free plan includes 10 minutes of voice transcription and 50,000 tokens per month; the Professional plan includes 500 minutes and 2,000,000 tokens per month.
The AI assistance suite automates tedious inspection tasks: transcribing operator narration, describing photos, and drafting inspection reports. All AI processing runs on Azure OpenAI hosted in Norway East, and your data is never used to train the models.

Enable AI for your organization
AI features are off by default. An Admin must enable them explicitly:
- Go to Settings > AI.
- Toggle on Voice transcription and/or AI inspection reports.
The settings page explains exactly what data each feature processes and shows your AI usage quota for the month.
Each AI feature has its own opt-in toggle in Organization Settings.
Voice transcription
If the operator narrates during a dive, open the video and select Voice transcript. Blueye Cloud transcribes the narration into subtitles and makes every spoken phrase searchable. You can also enable automatic transcription of new uploads.
Transcription runs in the background after you request it on a video.
Once transcribed, spoken words become search results. Search for a keyword — for example "crab" — and jump directly to the timestamp in the video where it was said.
Search finds spoken phrases and links straight to the moment in the video.
Automated photo descriptions
Open a photo and select Describe with AI to get an instant caption and suggested tags. The descriptions and tags make your media library searchable and speed up report writing.
Describe with AI generates a caption and tags for a photo on demand.
AI inspection reports
In a project, add an AI Report block to the report editor. The AI analyzes the project's dives, metadata, annotations, photo descriptions, and voice transcripts, and generates a grounded first draft — with citation links back to the source dives, findings, and media.
The generated draft cites its sources: dives, findings, photos, and video segments.
Refine the report
Select Refine to adjust the generated text with conversational prompts — for example, remove a section or add notes about visibility and weather. You can restore earlier revisions at any time, and edit everything manually in the editor.
Refine the draft with text prompts, or restore a previous revision.
