By default, the Surface Unit USB port is configured as a LAN device when connecting a USB-Ethernet adapter. This configuration allows you to connect a wired device, which will get an IP address from the Surface Unit's built-in DHCP server.
However, if you want to connect the surface unit to the Internet like a normal home access point, you need to reconfigure this interface as a WLAN.
If the pictures below does not look like your interface, go ahead and update your surface unit first by following this guide:
Upgrading the Surface Unit software
1. Log in via 192.168.1.1, username: root, password: pioneer
2. Go to "Network -> Interfaces"
3. Go to "Devices" and press "Configure..." for br-lan
4. Press the dropdown menu and deselect eth1 from the list.
5. Press "Save" followed by "Save & Apply"
6. Connect your Ethernet adapter to an internet source; all devices on your Blueye WiFi network will now have internet access.
