Prerequisites:
-
- Fully charged surface unit
- Checked the surface unit firmware version listed in the Blueye app under "Diagnostics" is lower than v2.3.2
Step 1: Downloading the latest firmware
Make sure you are connected to the internet and download the following file to your PC: https://blueyebuildserver.blob.core.windows.net/wsu-update/wsu-update-2.3.2-factory.bin
Step 2: Log in to the surface unit
Connect your PC to the Blueye WiFi and open this webpage: http://192.168.1.1
You will then see a webpage asking for a username and password. Enter root as username and pioneer as password.
Step 3: Update the software
After logging in, you'll see something like this (depends on the version currently running).
Navigate to "System -> Backup/Flash Firmware"
Select the "Flash image..." button at the bottom of the page.
Select the wsu-update-2.3.1-factory.bin file and press "Upload".
Once the file is uploaded, you'll see the following dialogue. Uncheck the "Keep settings" checkmark and check the "Force upgrade" as in the following screenshot. Double check your settings are the same as in this screenshot and press "Continue"
Now the flashing process will begin. You will lose the WiFi connection to the surface unit. The LEDs on the surface unit will start to blink in a pattern; wait for them to stay fixed, and you should be able to see the Blueye WiFi again (it takes about 60 seconds).
Congratulations the surface is now updated to the latest FW.
